JUNGMANNOVA 15: first restored building with a LEED Platinum certification

IMMOFINANZ presents JUNGMANNOVA 15 as the first restored building with a LEED Platinum certification in the Czech Republic

The Austrian real estate company IMMOFINANZ has announced that it has been awarded the LEED Platinum certification for its restored JUNGMANNOVA 15 office building in Prague 1. The Platinum certification is the highest possible level in the latest LEED system and is awarded on the basis of very strict criteria such as the quality of the building’s interior environment; operating expenses and the comfort of building users are also evaluated. JUNGMANNOVA 15 is the first restored office project in the Czech Republic to earn this certification.

“This LEED Platinum certification underlines our strategy of focussing on energy efficiency and utilising resource-conserving construction methods for renovation and development projects”, comments Karel Bor, Country Manager for IMMOFINANZ Group’s asset management in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and responsible for oversight of its office and logistics real estate portfolio there. “Last year we were awarded LEED Gold certification for the Jindřišská 16 project, the atrium of which has a unique vertical garden with 5,000 live plants, and for the Na Příkopě 14 project. All three of these Prague based office buildings preserve the original historical character while also being furnished with the latest technologies.”

A new building with a long history

Initially, the building at Jungmannova 15 was designed by architect Osvald Polívka and built in 1907-1910. The front facade is mostly in the Art Nouveau style with several Art Deco elements. The restoration of the building and the addition of a new modern extension was conducted together with the renowned architecture studio DaM.

Focus was put on the preservation of all original features, such as the original hanging lamps, the fine terrazzo staircase, the ornamental metalwork on the balcony railings and the decorative street facade, thanks to which the period atmosphere of the building has been maintained. The certification process was administrated by ARCADIS, a division of EC Harris, which led the whole certification process for both the Jungmannova 15 and Jindřišská 16 buildings.

Sustainable and flexible offices

JUNGMANNOVA 15 is a modern office building with 7,200 sqm of “class A” office space and 580 sqm of commercial space. Tenants enjoy a premium location offering excellent accessibility, a broad range of services and the advantages of an established business location with many successful domestic and international companies located nearby. One of the unique opportunities for tenants is the unusual combination of working environment and nature. The possibility to take advantage of extensive green spaces, terraces and ground floor offices with their own outdoor gardens provides unmatched comfort. Cyclists can ride to work and store their bikes in a dedicated space furnished with lockers and showers.

Thanks to its flexible design, the offices at JUNGMANNOVA 15 can be divided into individual units ranging from only 190 to over 1,000 sqm.
